In any case, authorised Land Rover dealers in Japan would not be happy even though the vehicle imported directly from England was warranted world wide. In addition, they have no spare parts for the diesel engine and the mechanics have little knowledge in the event of repair. Hopefully, he will not be in trouble.
MG/Austin Maestro is a successor of Austin Allegro. Saloon version is Montego. Both of which was a awfully bad car in terms of reliability and performance. Even now, Land Rover has not been recovered from the British Leyland related illness.
Repair cost would be beyond your imagination after 3 years time. The new baby Rangee is equipped with a full of hi-tech gadgets. He will have been hospitalised 6 months a year, I guess.
LR relialibility has been slightly improved, not dramatically. Although many Japanese components are being used, the vehicles are designed by British engineers and aseembled by imcompetent workers. Hence, LR is still bottom of the league in terms of quality and reliability.
On the contrary,a Jaguar is one of the most reliable European cars. Always top of the league in JD power survey in UK and US. I wonder why there is a huge gap between the 2 brands? LR management team do not seem to have ears to listen. Ironically, LR sales has been pretty good so far whilst Jaguar suffer from poor sales. However, I reckon that LR will pay the price in the long time consequences. In fact, LR have already lost a large number of customers in this country.

Can you show me your authentic British English ,which is ideal for the hardcore Japanese Rangee fans? It is so easy for you to point out some grammatical mistakes and so on. Mind you, you must write by yourself start from scratch, no copy and paste allowed.
>>75 Pigmalion Can you show me any English man who writes English as it should be written? Only foreigners who have been taught to write it write it well.
>>79 It is highly unlikely as the dealers rely heavily on the revenue from maintetance and repair. In the US,every new Land Rover vehicle is covered by a limited warranty for 4 years or 50,000 miles (82,500 kikometres). The new Range Rover will not be able to beat the German counterparts unless extend the warranty period and milege for 5years/unlimited at least.

50,000 miles (82,500 kikometres). キコメートレスって何ぞ?

Sorry, careless mistyping. Kilometres

Apart from classic Defender, I don't think it is a good idea to purchase grey import LR. It would be cheaper, thanks for the strong Yen, but eventually you may end up with disaster in maintenance and residual value, I assure you.
