One bright day, the doorbell at Miffy's house rang.
Grandpa and Grandma Bunny had come to visit.
"Hello, Miffy!" said Grandma Bunny.
"We thought we would come and visit in your house, but as it is such a lovely and warm day, we thought we could take you to the beach
instead."
"Oh, how wonderful!" shouted Miffy. "I would love to show you the beach."
"What a nice idea!" said Mother Bunny.
"I will pack you a nice lunch so you can have a picnic. And you can tell Miffy what the beach was like when you were young."
Father Bunny said, "I will drive you to the beach in our car."
So off they went in Father Bunny's car.
"Yes!" said Father Bunny. "I remember making sandcastles, too. We can all make some together."
"I did it, too" said Grandma Bunny. "I remember that the sand must be wet."
So Miffy picked up her bucket and went down close to the water.
She filled the bucket the wet sand and brought it up to where the others were sitting.
Miffy had to do it many times because it took lots of sand to make a proper castle.
How beautiful it was! And just as the castle was finished, along came Melanie, Miffy's bunny friend.
"Would you like to play ball with me, Miffy?" asked Melanie.
"Oh, yes!" said Miffy.
"Don't go too Far." said Father Bunny. "You might get lost."
"We won't get lost, Father." said Miffy. "Because we know that you will be where the castle is."
So Miffy and Melanie run off kicking the ball along the beach.
Soon they were quite far away.
"Oh, dear!" said Grandma Bunny. "The water is coming very close to our castle. We'd better move back a bit."
And sure enough, soon the water came and washed away the whole castle.
Miffy and Melanie got tired and started to go back.
"Where is your family, Miffy?" asked Melanie.
"I can't see them." "Don't worry, Melanie!" said Miffy. "They are right by our sandcastle."
But Miffy looked and looked and she didn't see the sandcastle.
She didn't know that the seawater washed it away.
She and Melanie walked and walked along the beach.
"Where is the castle?" said Miffy. "Maybe we really are lost, Melanie."
"Miffy! Melanie! We are here! The sea came up and washed our castle away."
"It's nice that our houses are not made of sand." said Miffy.
They were all very happy to be together again.

Miffy loved colors.
She looked out of her window to see which color she could spot.
She saw that the sky was blue and that the grass was green.
She saw red flowers and yellow flowers in her garden.
She looked at her hands. "I am white." she said.
"And I'm wearing a blue dress."
"Isn’t it good that we have so many different colors." she thought.
Just then the doorbell rung. It was Melanie.
"Hello, Melanie!" said Miffy.
"Hello, Miffy!" said Melanie.
"I'm going to the playground. Do you want come with me?"
"Oh, yes!" said Miffy. And the two little bunnies went off together.
Poppy Pig's house was red with a green roof.
There were some bright yellow flowers growing in the window box.
There was Poppy just coming from her garden.
She had a wheel ballow full of flesh orange carrots.
"Hello, Poppy!" said Miffy.
"Hello, Miffy! Hello, Melanie!" said Poppy.
"What a colorful house you have, Poppy?” said Melanie.
"Thank you." said Poppy Pig. "Isn't it cheerful?"
"Yes, it's lovely." said Miffy.
When they arrived at the playground, Miffy and Melanie played on the yellow swing.
They slid down the blue slide.
They went round and round on the red merry-go-round.
Miffy said to Melanie "Look! There are so many different colors everywhere."
"Oh, yes." said Melanie.
"Isn’t that fun? And you are white and I am brown. We are different colors, too."
"We are different colors. But we are really the same." said Miffy.
"Yes." agreed Melanie.
"We just two bunny girls. One white and one brown."
Two friends laughed when they thought of all the different colors.
"There are different colors everywhere we look." said Miffy.
They saw a green bird and blue one and brightly colored butterflies.
But as they began to walk home, clouds began to gather.
The blue sky turned to gray.
"Oh, dear! I'm afraid it's going to rain." said Miffy.
"We'd better hurry."
But then a bit of sunlight appeared.
And the two friends saw the most colorful sight of all.
"A rainbow!" shouted Miffy.
They both thought what a beautiful colorful world it is.

Grunty could stay with her over night.
"Yes!" said her mother. "And it's worm enough for you both to sleep in a tent in
our back garden."
"Oh, that will be fun!" said Miffy happily.
Farther Bunny said he would take her to Poppy Pig's house to collect her little
niece Grunty.
Off they went in Farther Bunny's car to Poppy Pig's house.
"Hello, Poppy!" said Farther Bunny.
"Miffy would like to invite Grunty to stay with her tonight.
You can pack her things and I will drive her to our house."
Soon they were driving back to Miffy's house and the two young girls were very
excited about sleeping in a tent.
"It will be such fun, Grunty!" said Miffy.
"I hope you are not afraid of the dark."
"I won't be scared if you are with me, Miffy?" said Grunty.
The two little girls snuggled inside their sleeping bags inside the dark tent.
"What is that sound?" whispered Grunty. "I'm scared."
"It's only the crickets." whispered Miffy.
"They always jump at night. You mustn't be afraid of them."
"What is that?" whispered Grunty, who was really afraid.
"That's just an owl who always sits in the tree at night," whispered Miffy.
"You mustn't be afraid of her."
Grunty was afraid and she said "Why don't we move the tent to Poppy's house
tomorrow? I'm used to the sounds in her garden."
And two little friends snuggled close to each other and finally fell asleep.
And Mother Bunny brought them breakfast.
"Did you sleep well?" Mother Bunny asked them.
"Grunty was afraid of the sounds in our garden, Mother.
Can we move the tent to Poppy's house tonight?"
That evening Farther Bunny packed up the tent and drove the two girls to
Poppy's house.
"Can we put up a tent in your garden tonight?" Father Bunny asked.
“Grunty feels she would be more comfortable sleeping in your garden. Miffy is a
very brave little bunny so I don't think she will be afraid."
"Off course!" said Poppy.
Later that night the two friends were tacked into their tent in Poppy's garden.
She heard noises.
"Oh, dear!" whispered Miffy, who was scared.
"Now, I am afraid. What is that sound? Wake up, Grunty!
There's a strange noise I've never heard before."
Grunty began to laugh.
"That's just my aunt Poppy snoring. I hear that all the time."
Now both girls started to laughed.
They laughed and laughed and until they both fell asleep.

At Miffy's school the children were learning about nature.
Their teacher said, "Nature can be big things like trees and mountains.
It can also be little things that you can find anywhere even in your garden.
Tomorrow each of you must bring something from nature into our classroom."
All the bunny children were excited and begun whispering together thinking
about what they could find.
“Father!” she said. “Our teacher wants each of us to bring something from
nature to school. What do you think I should bring?”
"Well, just look around you, Miffy. Right here in our garden there was nature
all around us."
Miffy looked and she saw a bright red apple. She saw birds flying in the sky.
She saw a warm crawling out of the ground. She saw some beautiful stones.
And off course there were many flowers all around.
She didn't know what she should choose.
Her father said, "In the morning why don't you pick a nice red apple?
After you show it to your class, you can eat it for lunch.”
Miffy thought that was clever idea.
pick the apple, a beautiful butterfly landed right on her arm.
"That's it!" whispered Miffy. "I bring this beautiful butterfly to my class."
She walked slowly and quietly towards her school very carefully not to
frighten the butterfly.
"Good morning, Snuffy!" whispered Miffy.
"You can walk along beside me, but you must be very quiet.”
Snuffy wagged her tail happily.
She gave a little bark and the butterfly flew away. Miffy was very sad.
Everyone else in the class had brought interesting things.
Melanie had found an empty bird’s nest.
Winnie brought some bright colorful leaves.
Aggie had a beautiful stone.
They each had something from nature, but Miffy had nothing.
And Miffy suddenly had an idea.
She raised her hand. "Please, Miss!" she said.
"I did bring something from nature. But I am not sure I can bring her inside"
"Her? Do you have a friend outside?"
"Yes." she said.
"She is my good friend, Snuffy. Isn't a dog a wonderful part of nature?"
All other bunnies laughed and so did the teacher.
"Yes, you are right. Snuffy is a lovely little dog and she is certainly
an important part of nature. Bring her in."

One morning Miffy's mother was getting ready to make breakfast,
but she had no carrots. She knew that Miffy loved carrots.
"I was at the market early this morning, but someone had already bought
all the carrots they had. There were no carrots left."
"I know who has carrots in her garden. Poppy Pig! Poppy Pig has a lovely garden
where she grows plenty of carrots."
"If you run down to Poppy Pig’s house, I'm sure she will give you some of
her juicy carrots."
She was eating the very last carrot from her garden.
"Those carrots were so delicious. I just couldn't resist them.
I should have planted lots some more."
She looked up and saw Miffy coming towards her. "Good morning, Miffy!"
"Hello, Poppy!" said Miffy.
"I came because I would love to taste some of your wonderful carrots."
Poppy felt awful that she had just eaten her very last carrot.
"Oh, dear!" she said. "I don't have a single carrot left today.
If I plant more carrot seeds now, they won't be ready to eat for weeks."
Just then Auntie Alice arrived carrying two heavy baskets.
"Hello, Miffy! Hello, Poppy! I bought all the carrots in the market this morning. Because I'm
going to do something very special with them, and you are both invited for a carrot dinner.
You can bring some friends," she said and off she went on her way home.
Then Boris and Barbara Bear came walking by.
Miffy and Poppy told them that Auntie Alice was preparing a carrot dinner for them.
"Mmm... We don't like carrots very much," said Boris.
"Oh, but you must come," said Miffy.
"My Auntie Alice makes such good dinners from carrots."
All that afternoon, Auntie Alice was busy in her kitchen.
Early that evening Boris Bear was just about to enjoy a large sandwich.
"Boris!" cried Barbara. "What are you doing? You know that we are invited
Auntie Alice's house for a carrot dinner tonight. And it's nearly time to leave."
"Yes, but I don't like carrots," said Boris.
"Neither do I!" said Barbara. "But perhaps if we're hungry enough, we will.
Now leave that sandwich and let's go!"
"That smells wonderful!" said Barbara.
"It can't be carrots," said Boris. "Maybe she's cooking something else."
When everybody was ready for dinner, Auntie Alice served them carrot soup,
carrot bread, carrot pie and carrot juice.
"Come on, try a bit!" said Auntie Alice.
Boris and Barbara Bear enjoyed every bit of Auntie Alice's dinner.
"Here is a carrot surprise for dessert," said Auntie Alice.
"Hurray!" shouted Boris.
What a great carrot feast!
On the way home Boris said to Barbara, "That was a delicious meal.
Let's plant lots and lots of carrots in our garden!"

One morning Boris and Barbara Bear were having fun watching Snuffy running
and playing outside their house.
"Snuffy is having a wonderful time," said Barbara. "She is such a lively little dog."
Then Snuffy wagged her little tail and ran off barking happily through the woods.
On her way to Poppy Pig's house she past Melanie who was riding her scooter to school.
"Oh, dear!" said Melanie. "Snuffy can run so much faster than I can go on my scooter.
She is such a speedy little dog."
Snuffy ran round and round Melanie's scooter.
Then she gave a happy little bark and ran off towards Poppy Pig's house.
"Goodness, me!" said Poppy. "I wish I had as much energy as you, Snuffy."
Snuffy certainly did love to run and jump and soon she was running and barking
on her way to visit Miffy. But Miffy was not at home.
Snuffy ran all around Miffy's house but she could not find her.
Soon Snuffy began to get tired and sleepy.
She lay down in Miffy's garden and fell fast asleep.
In a little while Miffy came home from school and saw Snuffy lying there.
Snuffy didn't move at all. Miffy was very worried.
"Snuffy! Snuffy!" she called but Snuffy still did not move.
And Miffy said "Oh, Poppy! Look at Snuffy just lying there. I think she must be ill."
"How come?" said Poppy.
"Just this morning she was running and jumping in my garden so very full of life."
"But look how very still she is! I think she must be sick."
Melanie came riding up on her scooter.
"Look, Melanie!" said Miffy. "Snuffy must have something wrong with her.
She's just lying there and not moving."
"Well, she was moving very fast when I saw her this morning."
"Hello, Miffy" said Barbara. "Why do you look so sad?"
"I'm worried about Snuffy," said Miffy. "She is lying so still. I'm afraid she is ill."
But just then Snuffy opened her eyes and sniffed.
"Look!" said Boris. "Snuffy smells the food in our shopping bag.
She was just very tired, Miffy. But as soon as she smells good food, she wakes up again."
"Here is a biscuit for you, Snuffy," said Barbara.
After her sleep and a biscuit, Snuffy was ready to run and run again.
Miffy was happy to see that Snuffy was just fine.

"Yes, yes, Miffy dear." said Mother Bunny. "But the problem is I have no chocolate and not
enough butter or flour. Could you go and ask Auntie Alice for some?"
"Oh, yes, Mother! Auntie Alice is always baking cakes, so she would surely have those things."
Mother Bunny gave Miffy a basket and said, "Shall I write a list for you?"
"I can remember them by myself. Chocolate, butter... and... and..."

"Chocolate, butter, flour," said Miffy.
"You're trying to remember something you need," said Poppy.
"Me, too. I'm on my way to the shops. I must remember to buy some vanilla, cream and flour."
"I'm on my way to Auntie Alice's house to borrow some chocolate, cream and flour," said Miffy.
"It's good that you can remember what you need," said Poppy.
"Vanilla, cream, flour... vanilla, cream, flour... vanilla, cream..."
Then Miffy saw Barbara Bear. "Good morning, Miffy!" said Barbara Bear.
"I just came from the shop and I bought some potatoes, milk and sugar."
"That's interesting!" said Miffy. "I'm just on my way to my Auntie Alice's house to borrow
some vanilla, cream and sugar."
Thank you, Auntie Alice!" said Miffy.
"Here you are, Mother," said Miffy. "Here is the vanilla, cream and sugar.
You see? I remembered everything."
Miffy's mother smiled. "Are you sure you remembered everything?
Where is the chocolate? Where is the butter? Where is the flour?"
"Ah, dear!" said Miffy. "I'm sorry. I got all mixed up. Now there will be no chocolate cake
for my father's birthday."
"Don't cry, Miffy dear." said her mother. "With the vanilla, cream and sugar,
I can make some wonderful birthday ice cream."
That evening when they all sat down for the birthday dinner, Father Bunny said,
"This vanilla ice cream is delicious. What a splendid idea!"
Mother gave Miffy a wink. And they all enjoyed the birthday ice cream.

There was a lot of work to be done.
The whole garden was covered with fallen leaves.
Poppy's niece Grunty was sitting near by reading a book.
"Can you come and help me, please Grunty?" asked Poppy Pig.
"Oh, Poppy," said Grunty. "I'm so tired."
"How can you be tired?" asked Poppy.
"You haven't done anything all day except read that book.
So please, come and help me! You can rake all the leaves into a heap."
And she huffed and puffed and soon had to sit down again.
"You must finish the job, Grunty," said Poppy.
"We must clean all the leaves up today."
"There are too many leaves, and it's such hard work." said Grunty.
Just then Miffy came walking by.
"May I help you?" said Miffy. "I see that You have a lot of work to do."
"Oh, yes," said Grunty. "We would be very happy if you could help us."
"Oh, yes please," said Poppy. "Grunty said she's too tired to do any work.
Perhaps you'll find that doing the work together is more fun."
"I like to rake leaves," said Miffy. "They make such a nice crunchy sound.
Grunty and Miffy raked the leaves together. The pile became bigger and bigger.
"What's great fun..." said Miffy, "is to jump on the pile of leaves and sink right down inside.
I will show you."
"But it's fun!" said Miffy.
"I'll rake them back into a pile, and this time you can jump into them."
"Well, all right." said Grunty. "Is it really fun?"
"Try it!" said Miffy. Grunty laughed and laughed.
"You are right, Miffy," Grunty said. "It is great fun!"
And soon Miffy and Grunty were taking turns raking, running and jumping in the leaves.
Then the telephone rung. Poppy went to answered it.
When she returned she said, "That was Miffy's mother.
She asked if Miffy could come home and rake the grass."
"Oh!" said Grunty. "May I go and help her, Poppy?"
And Poppy Pig said, "But Grunty, I thought you were too tired."
"Yes, I was. But I'm not any more," said Grunty.
So she promised to go and help Mother Bunny because...
"Raking leaves really is a lot of fun!"

"Good morning, Poppy!" said Miffy. "Where did you get that beautiful tree?"
"Boris gave it to me, Miffy," said Poppy. "Christmas is coming.
And I asked him if he could find me a nice tree."
"What a good idea!" thought Miffy. "We will also need a Christmas tree."
Miffy went inside and asked her mother.
"May I go into the forest to ask Boris Bear to find us a Christmas tree?"
"Yes, Miffy. But you must be home in time for lunch."
So off she went across the meadow and into the forest.
When she arrived at Boris and Barbara's house,
they were already decorating their own tree for Christmas.
"Hello, Boris!" said Miffy. "And a Merry Christmas to you and Barbara.
I would like to ask you if you can find a nice Christmas tree for our family?"
"Yes, I can," said Boris. "But you know I mustn't cut down a forest tree.
I can dig all up for you, and then put it into a pot, so the tree can stay alive for next year."
When they arrived at school, there was Boris with a very big tree for the school yard.
"Hello, Miffy!" said Boris. "This is the tree that you said too big for your house.
But I thought it would be just perfect for your school."
The school teacher and all the children were very pleased to have such a wonderful tree
for their school.
All the children were soon at work making decorations for their new tree.
It was going to be so beautiful.
Then Boris knocked on the window. "I have another surprise for you, Miffy.
I also brought the tiny tree. I think it would be a perfect for Snuffy."
"How wonderful!" said Miffy. "Snuffy's own special Christmas tree to put near her dog house!"
All the school children were happy with their big tree
At Christmas Miffy and her parents were happy with their medium sized tree.
And little Snuffy was very very happy with her very own tiny tree.

One day Poppy Pig invited Miffy to her house for tea and biscuits.
Miffy asked her mother if she could go.
"Off course you can go,Miffy," said Mother Bunny. "Be careful riding your scooter.
It's cold outside and it might be slippy if it starts to snow."
"I'll be careful, Mother,"said Miffy.
"And I'll be sure to bring some of Poppy's biscuits back for you."
Miffy rode her scooter towards Poppy's house. She soon reached Poppy's house with no problem.
Miffy and Poppy had a lovely time together.
Miffy forgot all about the time. Suddenly the telephone rung.
"Hello, It's your mother," said Poppy.
"She said you should start to head home because it looks like it will snow."
"Oh, dear!" said Miffy. "I had such a good time with you, Poppy. But I must leave."
Miffy put on her coat and her scarf.
She was ready to say good bye to Poppy when she remembered her promise to her mother.
"Can I take some biscuits home to my mother, please?" she asked Poppy.
"Off course!" Poppy put some of the biscuits into a little bag and placed it
in the basket of Miffy's scooter. "Do be careful riding home on your scooter, Miffy."
When Miffy began to ride home, it started to snow. She scooted along as careful as she could.
In a short while there was so much snow that it became quite slippy.
And when she tried to ride down a little hill... Boom!
Miffy wasn't heart, but she decided to walk with her scooter the lest of the way home.
"I hope nothing to happened to Miffy." she thought.
Then she saw Miffy. "What a relief!" She quickly opened the door.
"Hello, Miffy!" said her mother. "I'm glad to see that you walked home with your scooter."
"I started to ride. Then I skidded and fell off my scooter.
So I decided to walk the lest of the way. I wasn't hurt at all.
I brought you some of Poppy's biscuits." Miffy looked inside the bag.
"Where were the biscuits?"
"Oh, dear!" said Miffy.
"When I fell down, all of the biscuits got broken. Now there's nothing in the bag but crumbs."
Just then Father Bunny came home. "Hello, everyone," he said.
"There is lovely snow everywhere. It's a perfect time for a sledge ride."
"Oh, no!" said Mother Bunny. "That's way too much cold for me. I prefer my warm oven.
I'll bake a fresh batch of your favorite biscuits." They all laughed.
Then while Mother Bunny was busy in the kitchen, Miffy enjoyed to ride on the sledge.
So they went into the forest, and they saw many beautiful trees.
Miffy saw one that was a specially beautiful.
"But I think that one is too big to put inside our house."
"Well, what about that charming little one over there?"
"Oh, that one is too small. All our Christmas tree decorations wont fit on such a tiny tree."
Then Boris pointed to a medium sized tree. "Do you think this one will do?" he asked.
"Yes!" said Miffy. "That's a lovely one. Can you dig that one up for me, please?"
So Boris dug up the tree being very careful not to damage its roots.
"I will bring it to your house tomorrow."
Miffy was home just in time for lunch.
And she told her mother about the lovely tree that Boris was going to bring them.
The next evening Miffy and her mother and her father were busy decorating the tree.
It looked so beautiful and even had flushing lights.

In Grandpa Bunny's workshop there were hammers and a saw and other special tools,
"Will you show me how to make something with your tools, Grandpa?" asked Miffy.
Grandma Bunny was surprised. "I thought I teach you how to bake a cake today," she said.
There were so many interesting things to do when Miffy visited her grandparents
that Miffy didn't know which to do first.
"Well, some little bunnies like to learn how to sew or do things in the kitchen,"
said Grandpa. "But they can also learn how to make things with tools."
"In fact it's the same thing," said Grandma Bunny.
"Whether you bake a cake or make a bookshelf, you have to put certain things together."
"I know what to do!" said Miffy.
"I will bake a cake and I will make a wooden box to put the cake in."
"That's a wonderful idea!" said Grandpa Bunny.
"First you can make the cake, and then we will know how big to make the box."
"I will bring it home to Mother and Father as a present," said Miffy.
She began to put together everything she would need to make a cake.
"First we must measure the right amount of flour and shifted into a mixing bowl,"
said Grandma Bunny. "Then we must prepare the eggs, milk, sugar and chocolate powder
in just the right amounts and mix them together."
Miffy used special measuring cups to be sure she used the right amount of each ingredient.
It was all written in Grandma's cookery book.
When everything was mixed together, the cake mixture was ready to be baked.
Miffy poured the mixture into a special round cake tin.
She measured the tin with Grandma's ruler. Then it went into the hot oven.
Now Miffy was ready to make the box for the cake.
She told her Grandpa how big the cake would be.
And He showed her how to use the same ruler to measure the wood for the box.
She marked the wood at just the right length and used one of Grandpa's clamps
to hold each piece to his work bench.
The clamp held the wood steady so Grandpa could saw each plank to the right size.
Miffy liked to see Grandpa working with the saw back and forth and back and forth
until it cut right through the wood.
Now she had pieces wood for the bottom and top of the box and for the four sides.
She used a hammer and some nails. And together they nailed all of the pieces together.
Just as the box was finished, Miffy smelt something delicious in the air.
"The cake is ready!" called Grandma Bunny from her kitchen. "It has finished baking."
What a beautiful cake! And how lovely it smelt when Grandma took it out the oven!
"Look!" said Grandpa Bunny. "It fits perfectly."
When Miffy arrived home that day, she was a very proud little bunny.
She had learnt that careful work and putting the right things together
could make a delicious cake or beautiful box.
Father Bunny and Mother Bunny were very proud of her.

It was a hard job and she needed help to make them.
Who do you think came along to help her? It was Snuffy the dog.
Snuffy loved to run and jump in the snow.
And when she saw Miffy trying so hard to push and roll a big snowball,
she ran up and helped her. They pushed and pushed together.
As the snowball rolled along, it picked up more and more snow.
It got bigger and bigger. "That's big enough for the snow bunny's body," said Miffy.
"Now we can roll a smaller snowball for this snow bunny's head."
Miffy made a little snowball with her hands.
Snuffy was able to push it along with her nose. But when it got bigger,
Miffy joined in the pushing until it was big enough to be the snow bunny's head.
"Now we must put it on top of the big snowball," said Miffy.
No matter how they tried, they could not lift the heavy snowball.
"Hello, Miffy," said Boris. "What are you doing?"
"We are trying to make a giant snow bunny," said Miffy.
"But its head is too heavy and we can't lift it."
"I have an idea, Miffy," said Boris. "I was taking these planks to my work shop.
But we can use them to make a ramp to the top of the big snowball."
Boris placed the planks against the snow bunny's body.
The planks made a perfect ramp right to the top of it.
Now they could role the smaller snowball up the ramp.
It was still hard work, but it was not so hard as lifting it would be.
There it was. At last the snow bunny's head was resting right on top of its body.
She stuck the two sticks into the top of the head.
"They don't look like bunny's ears?" said Miffy.
She had an idea. She packed snow firmly around one stick.
She packed more snow around the other stick. Two perfect bunny ears!
Snuffy ran off over the snow and returned with two rubber balls she often played with.
Miffy laughed. She pushed the balls into the snow bunny's head.
"Now he has eyes," said Miffy. "He can see what a wonderful job it is!
It was all with your help, Snuffy and Boris. You are such clever friends."
Finally Miffy added it a carrot to make the snow bunny's nose.
Now the snow bunny was complete.
but it was a hard work. → but it was hard work.

One day Miffy's mother took her large tray of fresh biscuits out of the oven.
"Oh, they smell delicious!" said Miffy. "And there are so many, Mother.
Maybe I can take some to Boris and Barbara Bear. They love biscuits, too."
"That's a nice thought, Miffy," said her mother.
"I will put some in a paper bag and you can take it to Boris and Barbara on your scooter."
Miffy put the bag of biscuits into her scooter basket and headed out of the woods
where Boris and Barbara Bear lived.
"Good morning, Snuffy," said Miffy.
"Would you like to come along with me to visit Boris and Barbara Bear?"
They traveled along together into the woods.
But the ground in the woods was very bumpy.
This didn't bother Snuffy who ran around happily.
She ran ahead much faster than Miffy. Miffy had to ride very carefully.
When she went over a very large bump, she didn't notice that the bag of biscuits had fallen out.
When Miffy arrived at Boris and Barbara's house, Snuffy was already there.
Miffy wanted to give Barbara her present. But she realized that it had gone.
"I wanted to bring you some of Mother's freshly baked biscuits," she said to Barbara.
"But I have lost them somewhere in the forest."
"Never mind," said Barbara. "I baked some biscuits, too.
So we can still have a nice little feast." And so they did.
"I can't go home without Snuffy," said Miffy. "She might be lost."
"Don't worry about Snuffy," said Boris. "All dogs know their way home."
So Miffy started home on her scooter, but she wondered where could Snuffy be.
"Snuffy? Snuffy?" she called. "Where are you?"
She went on a bit father and called out again. "Snuffy? Snuffy? Where are you?"
Now Miffy was beginning to get a bit worried. "Snuffy? Snuffy?..."
Certainly Miffy saw the bag that her mother had filled with biscuits.
"Oh!" she said. "At least I found the biscuits."
But when she picked up the bag, it was empty. There were no biscuits inside.
Then she heard the little sound from behind the tree and went to see what it was.
And there was Snuffy sound asleep with just a few biscuit crams next to her on the ground .
"So there you are, Snuffy!" said Miffy. "I see that you had a nice feast on your way home."

Miffy and her father were pulling Miffy's little wagon.
But the wind was blowing so hard that it was very difficult to pull.
Miffy was very tired for pulling the wagon.
Miffy said, "Father, isn't this a good place for our tent?" "Yes," said Father Bunny.
"But because of the wind is blowing so hard, it will be difficult to put out the tent."
They worked together and soon the tent was up.
And they put all of their things inside to protect them from the wind.
"That was difficult," said Miffy. "But it's very cozy inside here."
"Yes, Miffy," said Father Bunny. "I think we deserve a biscuit now.
But we must eat them quickly before everything gets covered with sand."
When the biscuits were finished , Miffy and her father went out to play with the ball.
But the wind was too strong. "Oh, no!" cried Miffy. "My ball will blow into the water."
But Father Bunny was able to stop the ball just in time.
"Throwing the ball is too difficult in this wind," he said.
"But I have an idea. This wind is perfect for flying a kite."
So Miffy went inside the tent and brought out her beautiful red kite.
"OK, Miffy," said her father. "I will hold the kite up high,
and you will hold on to the string. When the wind blows, I will let go.
And if you hold on tight to the string, the kite will fly up in the air."
A strong gust of wind blew, and Father released the kite.
And it flew high up into the air. The red kite looked beautiful against the blue sky.
But the wind was very strong, and the kite danced this way and that in the air.
It was hard for little Miffy to hold on to the string.
She was afraid that the wind would lift her off the ground and up into the air.
"Hold on tight, Miffy!" shouted her father. "I'm coming to help you."
But it was too late. The kite hit the ground so hard that it was broken and toned.
"Oh, dear," cried Miffy. "My lovely kite is smashed..."
I think we should go home."
They carefully folded up the tent and put all of their things into the car.
Miffy held her broken kite on her lap. She didn't cry anymore, but she was very sad.
Miffy's mother made some worm cabbage soup for them. Then Miffy went to bed.
She was very tired after her big adventure at the beach.
Mother Bunny said to Father Bunny, "Do you think you can repair the kite?"
"I will try," said Father Bunny.
The next morning when Miffy woke up, she blinked her eyes in astonishment.
There, at the end of her bed, was her beautiful red kite as good as new.
"My father is so clever," she thought.

Suddenly her mother rushed into her room and said,
"Miffy dear! Wake up! It's late. You'll be late for school!"
Miffy quickly sat up and looked at her clock. It was very late.
Miffy rushed her wardrobe. "What should I wear, Mother?" she said.
"Just wear anything!" said Mother Bunny.
"You must get dressed very quickly so that you won't be late for school."
So Miffy chose her yellow dress.
"Come and have your breakfast, Miffy," called her mother,
"I have carrots and tomatoes already for you."
"Miffy!" she said. "You have a big spot on your dress."
"Oh, dear!" said Miffy. "If I have to change my clothes, I'll be later than ever."
"But you must," said her mother. "You should wear clean clothes to school.
When you're rushing, everything goes wrong."
So Miffy changed into a clean dress. "Now I must really run to school," she said.
"Hold on, Miffy!" called her mother. "You have forgotten your lunch bag."
Before Miffy got very far, she remembered that she had promised her teacher
a nice red apple from the tree in her garden.
She knew she would be later still but ran back home to get the apple.
But Miffy could not reach the apple in the tree.
"Mother!" she called. "Could you please come and pick an apple from the tree for me?
I promised to bring one to my teacher."
"Oh, dear Miffy!" said her mother. "You're getting later and later."
But she picked the apple for Miffy, and off Miffy went again.
But the door did not open. It was locked.
Miffy looked at the playground. It was empty. And there were no scooters parked there.
Then there was her mother in the car. "Miffy!" she called.
"In our rush we completely forgot that today is a school holiday.
You're not late. There is no school today."
Miffy laughed and laughed.
"You see, Miffy," Mother said, "When you're rushing, everything goes wrong."
"But not everything," said Miffy.
"Now I have a delicious apple to eat, and tomorrow I'll pick a fresh one for the teacher."
Miffy rode home with her mother and enjoyed the rest of her school holiday.

Miffy and Melanie were walking home from school.
And Melanie said, "Miffy, tomorrow is the last day of school before our summer holiday.
Shall we make a present for our teacher?"
"Oh, yes!" said Miffy. "I will ask my mother to give me a flower pot,
and I will paint a nice design on it."
"Good!" said Melanie. "And I will make some pretty paper flowers to go into your pot."
"Yes!" said Miffy. "That way our present will be from both of us together."
So the two little girls went home, each to make their part of the present.
And Melanie made some beautiful paper flowers.
The next day the two girls walked to school with each of their presents wrapped in gift paper.
When the school class started, the teacher said, "Dear, children,
today is the last day of school before our summer holiday. So this would be a special day."
Miffy and Melanie raised their hands. "We would like to give you a present," said Miffy.
Melanie and I have made something special just for you."
"Oh, how nice of you!" said the teacher. "What a wonderful surprise!"
First Miffy gave the teacher her present. The teacher unwrapped it very carefully.
"What a lovely flower pot, Miffy! Did you paint it yourself?"
Then Melanie came forward and gave her present to the teacher. When the teacher unwrapped it,
she said, "How thoughtful! Lovely flowers to go into a lovely flower pot!"
She was very pleased and thanked both girls.
"Now," said the teacher, "It's time for us to all go out and have fun in the play ground."
So all the children had lots of fun on the last day of school.
And while they were going up and down, Melanie pointed to the school room window
which was lined with the real flowers in the real flower pots.
"At the end of each school year, each of us has to take home one of the real flower pots
and take care of it until school starts again," said Melanie.
"I wonder which of the pots we shall get," said Miffy.
When they all returned to the classroom, The teacher said,
"And now children, I will give you each one of the flower pots to take home."
And she began to hand each pupil one of the flower pots.
When Melanie and Miffy left the classroom, they looked back
and saw the teacher putting the pot with paper flowers in the windowsill.
"Because our flowers aren't real, they could stay in the classroom all summer," said Miffy.
"Now everyone has some lovely bright flowers even a classroom."

"Boris Bear has lots of wood," said Miffy.
"I'm going on my scooter and ask him if he could give us enough to make a doghouse."
So Miffy took her scooter and set out for the forest where Boris and Barbara Bear lived.
Boris said, "What a nice idea! Of course I will give you the wood.
And I will also cut the wooden parts for you. So all you have to do is nail them together."
"Oh, you're very kind, Boris," said Miffy. "That will make it easy for us."
So Boris took some wooden boards and measured them.
Then he cut them into just the right size and shape so that they could put together to make a doghouse.
"Oh, thank you, Boris," said Miffy.
Miffy rode home on her scooter. She told her father what Boris was doing.
"Boris is very kind and clever, but he can't carry all those wooden parts to our house.
Let's go and pick them up in our car!"
Father Bunny and Boris carefully put all of the parts of doghouse into the back seat of the car.
Father Bunny thanked Boris. And then he and Miffy set off home.
When they arrived, Father Bunny laid all of the parts out in the garden.
"This could be a wall," said Miffy. One piece after another, they began to put the doghouse together.
"It looks a little strange," said Father Bunny. "There is no doorway for Snuffy to get inside."
"Yes," said Miffy. "And there is a big hole in the roof."
"I don't think we have it quite right," said Miffy's father. "Boris didn't give us an instruction sheet."
Just then Boris arrived. "I thought I better come and help you," he said.
"I wasn't sure if you would know how to put the doghouse together."
Boris was a clever bear. He quickly took all pieces of part and put them together in a different way.
And look, there was a cozy doghouse for Snuffy. They all laughed at how easy that was.
Along came Snuffy. "It's a little house just for you, Snuffy," said Miffy.
Snuffy loved her new doghouse and enjoyed her stay at Miffy's.

She had been swimming in the sea.
She came out of the water and dried herself with her pretty blue towel.
Now she wanted to sit down in the sun and read her book.
"You must be careful of the hot sun." said Father Bunny.
"If you want to read, then you should lie in the shade."
So Miffy found a shady place next to a colorful tent.
She read a few pages of her book.
But then the owner of the tent folded up the tent and left the beach.
"Oh, dear," thought Miffy. "Now I must find another shady place."
"I know," said Father Bunny. "We have a beach umbrella in our car. I'll get it."
He put the beach umbrella in the sand. Once again Miffy could sit down in the shade.
But after she had read just a few pages, the umbrella suddenly snap shut.
Father Bunny tried very hard to open it again.
"I forgot to mend the umbrella, Miffy," Father Bunny said.
Miffy laughed. "Now the whole beach is in the shade." she said.
But soon the cloud drifted away and Miffy was in the hot sun again.
There was nothing else to do but cover herself with her pretty blue towel.
But there was a strong breeze and the towel blew away.
"Oh, no!" said Miffy. She didn't know what to do next.
By this time the sun was going down.
"Now there is no problem, Father," said Miffy. "It will soon get dark."
"Yes," said Father Bunny. "The hot sun is going down.
But that also means that it's time to go home."
Miffy was sorry that she had to go home.
But she laughed that how difficult it was to stay out of the sun at the beach.
She climbed into her Father's car.
And as he drove them home, she fell fast asleep and dreamt of the bright yellow sun.

"Mmm..." said Mother Bunny. "Maybe it's here."
"No, no, no!" said Miffy. "My surprise is not hidden in my room."
"Maybe it's in the kitchen." said Miffy's mother. "Let's go and have a look."
Miffy's mother looked into the kitchen cupboard. She looked all around the kitchen.
Miffy danced and laughed. "No, no, no! It's not in here." she said.
"Let's go and look in the garden then," said Mother Bunny.
So they went outside. Miffy's mother looked all around the garden.
"I can't see any secret out here," she said.
"My surprise isn't out here," said Miffy. She was having great fun with her mother.
"Well..." said Mother Bunny. "Where is your surprise?
If it's not in your room and it's not in the kitchen
and it's not in the garden, then where could it be?"
Miffy said, "Let's go inside the house, and I'll show you."
Finally Miffy said, "It's in my school bag!" But her school bag wasn't there.
"Oh, dear!" said Miffy. "In my school bag was a drawing I made for Father.
I want to surprise him to put it under his pillow. But now it has gone."
Just then Snuffy started to bark. Snuffy was carrying Miffy's school bag.

Miffy, Melanie and Grunty were invited by Boris and Barbara Bear
to a picnic at their home in the forest.
The three friends walked very quickly through the woods to get there.
They were all very hungry.
Soon they were there and they saw Boris making a circle out of some stones on the ground.
Barbara was preparing lunch on the picnic table.
“I’m putting some of the vegetables from our garden into this pot.
We will have a wonderful vegetables soup for our lunch.”
“Hello, Miffy. Hello, Grunty. Hello, Melanie,” called out Boris.
“I’m going to cook the soup for our lunch and you are going to help me cook it.
Melanie, you can look in the woods and find some very small sticks to help start the fire.
Grunty, will you please fetch some logs from the pile in the back of the house?
They will burn hot enough to do the cooking."
Then Barbara said, “And Miffy, will you please help me slice the carrots and cabbage for the soup?”
So everyone had a job to do.
But when everything was ready, they noticed there was still one very important thing missing.
“We have forgotten to bring water to boil the vegetables in,” said Barbara.
So Barbara and Miffy went to get water from the house.
Once they had filled the pot, they carried it outside.
They placed the big pot full of water and vegetables over the fire.
Before long a delicious smell rose from the cooking pot.
And as the soup began to boil, they all noticed an exiting bubbling sound.
“That bubbling is just like music,” shouted Miffy.
“Yes,” said Barbara excited. “But it needs some rhythm.”
It made a ringing-bell-like sound.
Then Melanie stomped her feet in the same rhythm.
And Grunty picked up two sticks and began to click them together.
“I’ll get my banjo,” said Boris. And he ran to the house.
When he came back out strumming his banjo, Miffy also started to dance.
And everyone followed her around the soup.
Tapping and clicking and strumming and dancing to the music,
it was a real promenade, a real forest orchestra.
When they had circled the cooking pot three times, the soup was ready at last.
The music and dancing had made them all happy and very hungry.
So when Barbara finally passed around the bowls and spoons,
they all ate the delicious music soup with extra joy.
It had never tasted so good.

Miffy and Aggie were having great fun in the play ground.
Look at how they went up and down on the seesaw.
They were laughing and going up and down, up and down.
Just then Snuffy came running into the playground as well.
She was wagging her tail and barking happily.
"No, no!" said Miffy. "Seesaws are not for dogs, Snuffy.
You can have fun running around the seesaw, but you would fall off the seesaw."
Miffy and Aggie had finished the game on the seesaw, so they walked over to the merry-go-round.
They pushed with their feet. And merry-go-round went around and around, faster and faster.
Snuffy ran around it, around and around, wagging her tail and barking eagerly.
"Look, Miffy," said Aggie as they span around and around.
"Snuffy wants to be on the merry-go-round, too."
"No, no," said Miffy. "The merry-go-round is a lot of fun for us.
But you would surely fall off and hurt yourself, if you got on it.
The m is not for dogs but you can run around it if you like."
Soon the merry-go-round slowed down. Miffy and Aggie were a little dizzy.
Snuffy still wanted to play. And she was almost able to climb to the top of the slide.
But she wasn't able to hold on to the ladder, and she fell on the ground making a little yelp.
"Oh, dear!" said Miffy. "Are you hurt, Snuffy? The slide is not really for dogs, you know.
You must be more careful in this playground."
to eat some of the biscuit that their mother's were packed for them in little paper bags.
"Here Snuffy," said Miffy. "You can have a biscuit, too. Biscuits are good even for little dogs.
Miffy and Aggie laughed. They didn't want Snuffy to be sad just because she couldn't join in.
"So now please wait quietly, Snuffy dear, while Aggie and I go to play on the slide."
Then Miffy climbed up to the top on the slide, and slid down laughing happily.
Then Aggie climbed up too, and slid down. She also laughed.
And while they were laughing, Snuffy ran up and climbed to the top of the slide without falling down.
"No, no, Snuffy," called out Miffy. "You must be careful, Snuffy. Slides are not for dogs."
But then Snuffy did an amazing thing.
She sat down and slid right down the slide and landed softly on the pile of sand at the bottom.
"You did it!" cried Aggie. "You did it!" cried Miffy. "You're such a smart little dog, Snuffy!"

You’ve left all your clothes and toys scattered around.
But when you came home from school today, I’ll help you tidy up your room.

Boris was shouting. “Barbara, where is my hammer?”
“Your hammer must be just where you left it, Boris.”
“But I’ve searched everywhere,” said Boris.
“I’ll help you find your hammer,” said Barbara.
When Barbara looked into Boris’ workshop, she was shocked.
“No wonder you can’t find anything. Your workshop is a mess.” It was true.
“I’m sure that if you tidy up your workshop, you’ll find your hammer,” said Barbara.
“Don’t forget. You promised to make some new tables for the school today.”
Boris began to tidy up and soon found his hammer.
He packed his hammer along with his saw and two little boxes with nails and screws.
He also packed several wooden boards. It was all very neat.
Now he knew just where to find each tool he would need.
So he started to walk to the school.
and didn’t return them. And now no one can find them.”
“I’m happy to help,” said Boris. Miffy came to Boris.
Miffy said to Boris, “I couldn’t find my school bag this morning because my room was untidy.
It’s wonderful how you can find everything you need so quickly.”
“You know, Miffy, I had the same problem.
I couldn’t find my hammer this morning, because my workshop was so messy.”
Just then Aggie and Winnie came in.
“We’ve borrowed some tables last week.” “Goodness!” said the teacher.
“Boris has just built us two tables to replace the ones that you forgot.”
Boris looked at Miffy and winked. “You see, Miffy?” he said.
“How important it is to have everything in the right place!”

But what can I give to Snuffy for her birthday?

“What shall I give her?”
“Well,” said Miffy's mother, “Dogs love play with toys.
Why don't you give Snuffy one of your own toys? You have so many.”
So Miffy went to her room and looked at all her wonderful toys.
Miffy thought, “I love all of my nice toys, but I also love Snuffy. What shall I do?
Maybe I should make something especially for Snuffy.”
She went to her mother and asked, “What can I make for Snuffy?”
“I have a pretty bawl,” said Mother Bunny. “You can paint Snuffy's picture on it.
And it would be a wonderful bawl for her water. ”
Mother Bunny looked under the kitchen sink and there it was. “What a good idea!” said Miffy.
“I will use my paintbox to make it beautiful. And I will paint Snuffy's picture on it.”
Soon it was finished and it was beautiful.
“Come and get your present!” she shouted.
When Snuffy saw the beautiful little bawl with her picture on it,
she wagged her tail and jumped for joy.
She was so happy to have such a lovely birthday present.
Miffy was happy, too, because she painted the bawl all by herself.
She took a watering can and filled the bawl with fresh water.
Snuffy drunk water from her new bawl and had a very happy birthday.

Now I must wash the dishes and put them all away.”
“Shall I help you with the dishes?” asked Miffy.
“Thank you,” said Mother Bunny. “But you must be sure to put everything in its proper place.
The forks go with the forks, the spoons with the spoons and the cups with the cups.”
Then she began to put them away.
There were four forks and Miffy put them in the proper place.

“Mother!” said Miffy. “There were four forks and there were four spoons. But there are only three cups.”

The missing cup wasn’t in the oven or in the pot. Miffy began to search the entire kitchen.
It wasn’t in the cupboard or in the pot. It wasn't in the cupboard.
“The missing cup didn’t seem to be anywhere. I can’t find it anywhere,” said Miffy.
The fourth cup was not on the table.
“But look, Mother!” said Miffy. “My drawings are on the table.”
“Yes,” said Mother. “I brought them from your room.
You can put them back. But make sure you put them in the proper place.”
So Miffy took her drawings and went to her room.
She put her drawings on the shelf where she kept all of her things.
And there it was. The missing cup was on Miffy’s shelf.
“Mother, Mother,” shouted Miffy. “I found the cup.”
“Oh, silly me,” said Mother Bunny. “When I went into your room to get your drawings,
I had a cup of tea in my hand. I must have put it down on your shelf.
Now we have four cups again. Thanks to you, Miffy!”

“I can make lots of things with these wooden planks, Miffy. Let me show you.”
Boris took Miffy into his house to show her what he had made with planks.
“I made this table with my planks. I made this bench with my planks.
I even made these walls with my planks. I can make almost anything with wooden planks.
Come and see.” He took Miffy to his work bench.
“I’ll make something special for you. And while I’m working on it, you can try to guess what it is.”
“Is it going to be a table?” asked Miffy.
“No,” said Boris. “It’s not going to be a table.” Then he put two more planks at the ends.
“Is it going to be a bench when you turn it over?” asked Miffy.
“No,” said Boris. “It won’t be a bench.” Then he put two more planks by the sides.
“I know!” said Miffy. “Is it going to be a box when you put a top on it?”
“No,” said Boris. “It doesn’t have a top and it won’t be a box.”
Then he took a round log and sawed off four pieces. He put the four pieces of wood on the sides.
“Now you can see what it would be.” said Boris.
“I know!” shouted Miffy. “It would be a little wagon.”
“You are right,” said Boris. “It would be a little wooden wagon and it’s nearly finished.”
Miffy jumped with joy when she saw it all finished.
“What a lovely wagon!” she said. “Thank you so much, Boris!”
“Step into your new wagon, Miffy! And I will pull you home.”
Miffy carefully sat down on her wagon and rode home in great style.
Boris took Miffy into his house to show her what he had made with planks.

Miffy's favorite toy was a yellow teddy bear that she always took to bed.
One morning she woke and couldn’t find her teddy bear.
It wasn't under her blanket where it should be.
So she looked under her bed and there it was.
"You are such a grown-up teddy bear," said Miffy.
"I think you should have your own bed so you can't fall out.
I'll ask my good friend Boris Bear to make a bed for you. We shall go and visit him."
So Miffy carried her teddy.
And together with Snuffy, she walked through the forest to Boris's house.
"Hello, Miffy! Hello, Snuffy!" said Boris. "I'm always so happy to see you both.
And I see that you have another friend with you."
Last night he fell out of my bed. It's too big for him."
"Of course!" said Boris. "He must have his own bed. I'll make one for him in my workshop."
Boris then started to make a little bed for Miffy's teddy bear.
Miffy helped by handing Boris the tools when he called for them.
And even Snuffy helped by fetching the pieces of wood. Soon the little bed was finished.
"It's a lovely bed, Boris!" said Miffy. "Thank you very much for making it for my teddy."
It had been a lot of work and Miffy was tired.
Just then she heard ...(the sound of honking) It was Father Bunny.
Barbara had telephoned him and asked him to come and collect Miffy and Snuffy.
"Look, Father!" called Miffy. "Here is a lovely bed that Boris made for my teddy."
"Boris is so clever," said Father Bunny. "Did you remember to thank him?"
"Oh, yes!" said Boris. "Miffy thanked me very politely.
It was pleasure to make the little bed for her."
Then it was time to ride home in Father Bunny's car.
Father carefully put the bed on the backseat of the car and lay teddy bear in it.
Snuffy jumped next to it and Miffy got into the car as well.
They waved goodbye to Boris and Barbara and set off her home.
Soon she fell fast asleep, even though the rode was very bumpy.
When they drove around a corner, the wheel of the car hit the big bump.
And the teddy bear flew right out of the car.
Miffy was asleep and her father was busy driving.
He didn't even see that the teddy bear was gone.
When they arrived at their house, Snuffy jumped out of the car and ran away.
Miffy looked on the backseat and saw that the little bed was empty.
Where was her teddy bear? She began to cry.
"Oh, dear! Teddy bear is lost in the forest. I'll never see him again."
"I think it'll be very difficult to find your teddy bear in the big forest."
"And where is Snuffy? She has also gone." said Miffy.
Suddenly they heard the sound of barking.
They looked back and saw Snuffy came running out of the forest.
"Look, Miffy!" shouted Father happily. "Snuffy has found your teddy bear."
How happy Miffy was! She patted Snuffy.
"You're such a good dog. I am happy to have you as a faithful friend.

Can I bring my little niece Grunty? She's staying with me this week. She plays the piano."
"Oh, dear," said Mother Bunny. "What a pity! We don't have a piano.
Do bring little Grunty, though. We'll find something for her to play."
Soon Aggie arrived and now they could play a two-part-melody.
It took a long time for Poppy Pig to take her big double-base up the hill to Miffy's house.
At last she and Grunty arrived. Then Miffy, Aggie and Poppy began to play a three-part-melody.
But little Grunty had nothing to play and that was no fun for her.
"We have no real piano, Grunty," said Miffy.
"But I do have a nice toy piano. I'm sure you can make it sound wonderful."
Now they could all play together. How wonderful it sounded!

The postcard showed the beautiful picture of his house.
On the other side Boris wrote, "Dear Miffy. Please come and visit me.
I would like you to help me pick blueberries. The forest is full of blueberries at this time of year."
Miffy thought that would be a fun thing to do.
"Yes, but you must be very careful. Stay on the forest path so you won't get lost."
"Oh, don't worry, Mother. I know the way." Her mother said, "I'll pack a basket of sandwiches,
so you and Boris have a nice picnic to go with blueberries you pick."
"Be careful!" Miffy's mother said again as she waved goodbye to Miffy.
Miffy walked into the forest. She smelt lovely flowers.
She saw many colorful butterflies flitting this way and that.
The forest was full of wonderful things to see, smell and hear.
She looked to the right. She looked to the left. She looked up. She looked all around.
Suddenly she looked straight ahead and there was Boris's house.
Boris came out to greet her. "Hello, Miffy. I'm so happy you could come.
There are many delicious blueberries to pick in the forest."
They picked and picked. Soon their baskets were full of fresh ripe blueberries.
And their stomachs were full of fresh ripe blueberries and sandwiches, too.
They had a wonderful time.
"Do you think you can find your way?" asked Boris. He was little worried that Miffy might get lost.
"Don't worry, Boris. I know the way," said Miffy.
And she started to walk home with a basketful of blueberries. But it started to get darker and darker.
Miffy looked to the left. She looked to the right. But all of the trees looked the same.
"I'm afraid I am lost after all," said Miffy. "No!" said Boris. "You’re not lost. I shall show you the way out."
Miffy was pleased to see that Boris had been following her on her way home.
He walked with her all the way to the edge of the forest. "Here we are!" said Boris.
"Now you can find your way home by yourself." Miffy waved goodbye to Boris.
And she thought, "I'm so glad to have such a good friend."

Miffy's Auntie Alice was a dancer when she was young. She's still in love to dance.
And she decided to give dancing lessons to Miffy and her friends.
One Sunday morning Miffy, Winnie, Melanie and Aggie went to Auntie Alice's house
on the hill for the dancing lessons.
Then dressed in their dancing outfits, they were ready to start. "Dancing looks easy," said Auntie Alice.
"But it really is hard work. You must work hard to learn the proper dance steps.
First I will show you what to do. Now you girls! Try it together."
It was so difficult. But when Auntie Alice played the rhythm on the piano, they finally got it right.
"Good! Now I'll show you how to twirl round without loosing your balance."
"You will feel sore sometimes," said Auntie Alice. "But when you become real dancers, you will feel happy."
Every Saturday up and down and round they went.
They jumped and turned and posed always keeping in time with the piano.
It was hard work. But it was great fun. Miffy tried to move and stand gracefully.
It made her feel good about herself.
"Goodness me!" said Auntie Alice. "Dancing is for everyone.
Some of the greatest dancers are boys. Dancing gives them strength and good balance."
"I should ask Boris and Barbara to join our dance class." said Miffy. "Yes," said Auntie Alice.
"If we have a larger group, you can perform dances for your parents.
They will enjoy seeing how good you become."
The girl bunnies all worked very hard. Miffy wondered if Boris really likes to be a dancer.
On her next visit to Boris's house, Miffy was surprised to discover that Boris was a dancer.

Holiday time had arrived.
When the school term was over, Miffy and her mother and Father Bunny were ready to go on their holiday.
Miffy looked at the map so that she could see where they were going.
One year they went to the seashore. This year they would go to the mountains.
Mother Bunny said, "We must pack our warm clothes."
"Why is that, Mother?" asked Miffy. "It's summer time."
"You'll see, Miffy. Perhaps you'll be surprised."
Father Bunny made sure their car was safe for the long mountain trip.
Off they went over beautiful hills, through the woods, and then up into the mountains.
When they stopped to look out the wonderful view, they all put on their warm clothes.
As they drove even higher, Miffy started to see patches of the snow on the ground.
"That's strange!" said Miffy. "Snow in summer time!"
"Now do you see, Miffy? The higher in the mountains you are, the colder it is.
On some mountains there is snow all year long," said Mother Bunny.
When they arrived at the very top of the mountain, there was snow everywhere.
"Can we play with the snow like in winter time?" asked Miffy.
"Well, why don't we find out," said Father Bunny.
Miffy and her parents made a snowman. Then they had fun throwing snowballs.
Soon it was time to go back down the mountain again.
As they drove lower and lower, it began to get warmer again.
"Here is where we will spend our holiday," said Mother Bunny.
"Look, Miffy! There's something waiting for you."
"Another surprise!" shouted Miffy. "First the snow, and now the boat!"
What a wonderful holiday!
As her mother started to make the preparations for the camping site,
Miffy and her father went to the boat.
They climbed into the boat and went off for a nice boat trip around the lake.
When they returned, Miffy saw that Mother Bunny had made a campfire and a delicious picnic supper.
"This really is a wonderful holiday."

Father Bunny said he would take her to Poppy Pig's house to collect her little niece Grunty.
Off they went in Father Bunny's car to Poppy Pig's house.
You can pack her things and I will drive her to our house."
Soon they were driving back to Miffy's house and the two young girls were
very excited about sleeping in a tent.
When they arrived at Miffy's house, her mother had already set up a tent.
"It will be such fun, Grunty!" said Miffy. "I hope you are not afraid of the dark."
"I won't be scared if you are with me, Miffy," said Grunty.
The two little girls snuggled inside their sleeping bags inside the dark tent.
"What is that sound?" whispered Grunty. "I'm scared."
"It's only the crickets." whispered Miffy. "They always jump at night. You mustn't be afraid of them."
"What is that?" whispered Grunty, who was really afraid.
"That's just an owl who always sits in the tree at night," whispered Miffy. "You mustn't be afraid of her."
Grunty was afraid and she said "Why don't we move the tent to Poppy's house tomorrow?
I'm used to the sounds in her garden."
And two little friends snuggled close to each other and finally fell asleep.
"Did you sleep well?" Mother Bunny asked them.
"Grunty was afraid of the sounds in our garden, Mother. Can we move the tent to Poppy's house tonight?"
That evening Father Bunny packed up the tent and drove the two girls to Poppy's house.
"Can we put up a tent in your garden tonight?" Father Bunny asked.
“Grunty feels she would be more comfortable sleeping in your garden.
Miffy is a very brave little bunny so I don't think she will be afraid."
"Of course!" said Poppy.
Later that night the two friends were tucked into their tent in Poppy's garden.
Grunty was at home and fell asleep right away but not Miffy. She heard noises.
"Oh, dear!" whispered Miffy, who was scared. "Now, I am afraid. What is that sound?
Wake up, Grunty! There's a strange noise I've never heard before."
Grunty began to laugh. "That's just my aunt Poppy snoring. I hear that all the time."
Now both girls started to laugh. They laughed and laughed and until they both fell asleep.

実は、NHKで放送されている本編はイギリス英語なのに、主題歌は違うんです。なぜかは謎。
米語版と英語版は、どちらも一人でやり切ってますが、
米版はフランキーなストーリーテリング風。声色は使い分けません。
英版はすべて声色を使い分けてます。シナリオも、ところどころ微妙に違います。
そして日本語音声は、声優さんが複数みたいですね。お国柄が出ています。

In Miffy’s schoolroom there was a plain white wall.
Miffy raised her hand and asked her teacher,
“Wouldn’t it be nice if we could decorate the wall with some pretty paintings?
We can make some pictures and put them up on the white wall. ”
“That’s a great idea, Miffy,” said her teacher.
The teacher handed out paper, pencils and paints. Soon everybody was busy drawing.
Miffy drew a lovely flower. Melanie made some drawings of sea shells.
Aggie drew a fish. Winnie drew a boat with flags on it.
Aggie painted her fish with blue and yellow stripes.
Winnie colored her boat blue. She painted the flags red, yellow and blue.
“I don’t know what to draw next.” said Melanie, when her picture was finished.
“Neither do I,” said Winnie.
“But we need lots more pictures to cover the wall,” said Miffy.
“Come on, Children,” said the teacher. “It’s a lovely day outside.
Bring your drawing things and let’s go outdoors.
You’ll find many things to draw if you look around.”
Soon the children were looking all over the playground.
Miffy found some more colorful flowers to draw.
Melanie drew a picture of a tiny red butterfly.
And Winnie made a drawing of a very large tree.
There were many different things to draw outside.
The teacher was very happy with all the new pictures for the wall.
But would they all fit?
“We must be careful to put all of the paintings close together
so that there’ll be enough room of them,” she said. But there was not enough room.
And some of the children was disappointed that their paintings were not on the wall.
Melanie raised her hand. “I have an idea,” she said.
“Why don’t we change the paintings everyday
so that everyone can have a chance to put their painting on the wall?”
“What a good idea, Melanie,” said the teacher. “That’s what we shall do.
And that way we can make even more drawings.” All the children cheered.
Miffy said, “Now it would be more fun and ever to study here.” And this was true.
Everyday the classroom always decorated with different beautiful paintings.

One autumn day Miffy was on her way to visit to Boris and Barbara Bear.
Along the way she saw beautiful yellow, brown and red leaves.
“How beautiful they look!” she thought.
“I would like to put them into picture frames and hang them on the wall.”
Miffy began to gather up the most beautiful leaves.
“Hello, Boris! Hello, Barbara! Look what I have! Autumn leaves in many bright colors."
She laid them out carefully on Boris and Barbara’s kitchen table.
“Can you help me make some picture frames, please, Boris?”
“Yes, I can, Miffy,” said Boris. “They will make lovely gifts.”
So they went out to Boris’s workshop to find some nice wood to make the frames with.
While they were busy, a breeze blew through the house.
“Oh, dear!” said Miffy. “Where are all of my leaves?”
“That’s funny,” said Barbara. “But look, Miffy. We still have six leaves left.
One, two, three, four, five, six. That will be plenty,” said Barbara.
“Let’s go and finish the picture frames.”
“My goodness!” said Barbara. “We had six leaves left, and now we only have five.”
Boris quickly closed the window. “We don’t want to lose any more of these beautiful leaves.
I had made five frames. So we need five leaves.”
“Well,” said Miffy, “I think that we still have enough.”
So they put the five leaves into the five frames.
“Look how beautiful they are!” said Miffy. “You and Barbara shall have one.”
“Thank you, Miffy,” said Boris, and put the framed leaf on the wall.
“You still have four frames to give as presents.”
With the four framed leaves packed in the shopping bag, Miffy began to walk home.
“Hello, Miffy,” said Poppy. “What are you carrying?”
“I found some beautiful leaves in the forest. And Boris Bear made five frames for them.
I gave them one. So I have four left. Would you like one?”
“Oh, yes please!” said Poppy. “May have a red one?”
“Of course you can,” said Miffy. “If you take this one, I will still have three frames left.”
“Thank you, Miffy,” said Poppy. “It’s beautiful.”
When Miffy arrived home, she said, “Look, Father! Look, Mother!
I found some lovely leaves in the forest. And Boris Bear made some frames for them.
I would like to give one to each of you.”
Her mother and father were very pleased and hung the framed leaves on the wall.
Miffy still had one frame left. “I’ll do something very special with this one.” said Miffy.

“What a good idea!” said Miffy. “Can I help?”
“Yes,” said Father Bunny. “But first we must take everything out of your room.”
Miffy said, “I have lots of pictures on the wall. I have my cupboard and my bed and my shelf.
Can’t we just paint around them?”
“That’s where we do it all.” said Mother Bunny.
“We must take everything out of the room so we can paint the walls evenly.”
“Very well,” said Miffy, “I will help. First I will take all of my pictures off the wall.
But I can’t move my bed, all the cupboard, all the shelf.”
“Your mother and I will move the heavy things, Miffy.
You can think of what colour you would like to paint your room.
I have lots of different colour paints in my workshop."
So while her mother and father were carrying everything out of her room,
Miffy began to think about what colour she would like her room to be.
“If it were red, it might look too hot.
If it were green, it might look like my room was outside in the garden.
If it were white, it would be the same colour with me, and I might be lost inside it.”
Miffy looked out of her window and noticed a bright yellow tulip.
“If my room were yellow like that tulip, it would be sunny and bright.
I would like my room to be yellow,” said Miffy finally.
Father Bunny said, “I have some lovely yellow paint. I will paint the high parts of the wall, Miffy.
And you can paint the low parts. You will be able to learn how to paint.”
Mother said, “First you must put on an apron, Miffy. It would be a pity to get paint on your lovely dress.”
So Miffy put on an apron, and her father very carefully mixed the bright yellow paint.
He took a big brush and he gave Miffy a small brush. Then they set to work.
"Miffy!" said Father Bunny, “Try to paint up and down in the same direction like this.”
Miffy learnt very quickly. Soon the room was a lovely happy yellow colour.
And Miffy’s things were soon back in their place. Miffy felt happy, too. Her room felt fresh, bright and clean.
“It’s a nice feeling,” she said, “to have a freshly painted room. And that I helped to do it.”

Every morning Miffy looked out of her window and watched for the Post Bunny.
She hoped that one day a letter or postcard might come for her.
Mother Bunny said, "Why don't you go and see there’s any post today."
Miffy went to the front door to have a look, and there was some post.
She picked it up and carried it to the kitchen table.
"Well, here’s this morning’s newspaper," said Mother Bunny.
"And here is a letter for me from your Auntie Alice. And look, Miffy!
Here is a pretty postcard addressed to you from your friend Melanie."
"How exciting!" said Miffy. Her friend Melanie was on holiday with her parents.
The postcard had a pretty postage stamp on it.
Melanie has drawn the sun on the postcard," said Miffy.
"That means they are having lovely weather.
And next to the sun, she has drawn some wavy lines like water.
That means they are swimming in the ocean.
Look, there is even a picture of a brightly coloured fish."
"Yes," said Miffy’s mother, "Melanie is a clever little bunny."
"Here next drawing is a smiling face. So that means they are having a happy time.
And look! She has drawn a little picture of herself. So you know that it really is from Melanie.
I would like to send a postcard back to Melanie. And I will draw a picture of me on it," said Miffy.
"Here is a postcard you can use," said Miffy’s mother.
"You can also draw some other pictures on it for Melanie.
Why don't you draw a picture of our little house?”
So Miffy took the postcard and her pencil outside and looked carefully at her house.
"Yes,” she thought, "My drawing looks just like our house."
So she went into her garden where a lovely flower was growing.
She looked at the flower very carefully. And then she drew a picture of it on the postcard.
Just then a butterfly landed on the flower and Miffy quickly drew a picture of the butterfly.
Then Miffy went back inside to finish her drawings. She drew a picture of herself and Melanie.
"That will show Melanie how much I like her,” Miffy thought. Miffy coloured her drawings.
She gave the white house a red roof, red shutters, a green window.
She made the flower red and the leaves green. She coloured the butterfly yellow.
She left the drawing of herself white and coloured the drawing of Melanie brown.
They looked very pretty together. Miffy put a stamp on her postcard.
Then she walked to the postbox and carefully pushed her postcard into the postbox.
When she walked home, Miffy thought, "The post is a wonderful thing.
We can be together with our friends, even when we are far away from each other."
And indeed, Melanie was delighted with her postcard.

"Boris gave it to me, Miffy," said Poppy. "Christmas is coming.

"What a good idea!" thought Miffy. "We will also need a Christmas tree."
Miffy went inside and asked her mother.
"May I go into the forest to ask Boris Bear to find us a Christmas tree?"
"Yes, Miffy. But you must be home in time for lunch."
So off she went across the meadow and into the forest.
When she arrived at Boris and Barbara's house,
they were already decorating their own tree for Christmas.
"Hello, Boris!" said Miffy. "And a Merry Christmas to you and Barbara.
I would like to ask you if you can find a nice Christmas tree for our family."
"Yes, I can," said Boris. "But you know I mustn't cut down a forest tree.
I can dig all up for you, and then put it into a pot, so the tree can stay alive for next year."
Miffy saw one that was a specially beautiful.
"But I think that one is too big to put inside our house."
"Well, what about that charming little one over there?"
"Oh, that one is too small. All our Christmas tree decorations won't fit on such a tiny tree."
Then Boris pointed to a medium sized tree. "Do you think this one will do?" he asked.
"Yes!" said Miffy. "That's a lovely one. Can you dig that one up for me, please?"
So Boris dug up the tree being very careful not to damage its roots.
"I will bring it to your house tomorrow."
Miffy was home just in time for lunch.
And she told her mother about the lovely tree that Boris was going to bring them.
The next evening Miffy and her mother and her father were busy decorating the tree.
It looked so beautiful and even had flushing lights.
When they arrived at school, there was Boris with a very big tree for the school yard.
"Hello, Miffy!" said Boris. "This is the tree that you said too big for your house.
But I thought it would be just perfect for your school."
The school teacher and all the children were very pleased to have such a wonderful tree
for their school.
All the children were soon at work making decorations for their new tree.
It was going to be so beautiful.
Then Boris knocked on the window. "I have another surprise for you, Miffy.
I also brought the tiny tree. I think it would be perfect for Snuffy."
"How wonderful!" said Miffy. "Snuffy's own special Christmas tree to put near her dog house!"
All the school children were happy with their big tree.
At Christmas Miffy and her parents were happy with their medium sized tree.
And little Snuffy was very very happy with her very own tiny tree.

On her first day at school, Miffy's teacher said,
"Children, today we'll plant seeds in flower pots on the window ledge.
And during the year, we will watch them grow into lovely flowers."
Miffy was very surprised when the teacher handed her a little black seed.
"How can a little black seed become a pretty flower?"
"It's the magic of nature," said her teacher.
"Everything living starts from a tiny seed. In the seed is everything that can help it to become a flower.
When we put it in the ground, we must water it so that it grows."
First a very tiny bit of green showed above the black soil. Then small leaves began to form.
Then in just a few weeks, a tiny bud of color appeared.
And in another couple of days, it opened up into a real flower.
Miffy wondered if everything she planted in the ground would grow something nice.
That evening while Miffy was helping her mother with the dishes,
she told her how wonderful it was to see a flower grow from a tiny black seed.
"Yes," said Mother Bunny. "Tomorrow your father will plant some seeds
and you will see flowers grow again right here in our own garden."
Miffy was so excited that she dropped a cup, and it broke into pieces.
"Oh, dear," said Miffy. "I'm so sorry, Mother. I broke one of our lovely cups."
She began to cry. But Mother Bunny said, "Don't cry, Miffy dear. I know it was just an accident."
The next day Miffy thought, "If a lovely flower can grow from a little seed,
perhaps if I plant a piece of the cup in the ground, and new one will grow."
"If I plant a piece of the broken cup, will new one grow?"
"I don't think so, Miffy," said Father Bunny. "But you can try it."
So Miffy watched the little garden everyday just for fun hoping that maybe a new cup would really grow.
Gradually many beautiful flowers appeared, but no cups.
Miffy's father and mother knew that Miffy was disappointed. So Father Bunny had an idea.
When he came for that evening, he had bought a new cup.
While Miffy was sleeping, he buried the new cup where Miffy put the broken piece.
In the morning, Father said, "Miffy, I think something is really coming up where you planted the broken cup."
Miffy ran outside as fast as she could go.
Surely enough there was a bright, yellow cup handle was sticking up out of the ground.
Miffy pulled it out and was very surprised.
"I know that only living things can grow from the ground," she said.
Mother and Father laughed, and Father Bunny said, "Yes, Miffy dear. That is true.
I bought that new cup and put it into the ground just as a little joke."
And they all laughed.

Miffy and Melanie rode home from school on their scooters. They enjoyed the fine sunny weather.
But suddenly dark clouds appeared, and it started raining.
They had no umbrellas with them, so they hid under a tree.
But then it began to get fairly windy. It was difficult to ride their scooters in such a strong wind.
Miffy said, "Our clothes are not warm enough for the cold wind, Melanie. We must try to get home soon."
And just as they got to Miffy's house, it began to rain again. It was so cold that the rain changed to snow.
Both girls were glad to be inside where it was nice and warm.
They wondered how there could be so many changes in the weather so quickly.
The next day at school, the teacher told the class,
"Each year is divided into four seasons, spring, summer, autumn, and winter.
This is a picture of spring," she said. "What happens in the spring?"
Aggie raised her hand. "I think that spring is when the flowers grow," she said.
Winnie said, "Yes. That's because the sun is getting warmer. Everything grows in the spring."
"That's right," said the teacher. "What about summer?"
"I love the summer because it's nice and hot, and I can go swimming."
Melanie loved to play on the beach.
"Yes," said the teacher. "The summer is the warmest season of the year.
But after the summer comes autumn. What do you think happens then?"
Miffy said, "In the autumn, the wind blows, it gets colder, and all the leaves fall off the trees.
And then everyone knows that the winter is coming."
"Very good," said the teacher. "And what happens in the winter?"
Miffy said, "Well, I have to wear my warm clothes because the winter is very cold,
and usually there is a lot of snow."
"You are smart little bunnies," said the teacher.
After school, Miffy said to Melanie, "I wonder what season it is now."
Melanie started to laugh."I think that we are having all the seasons right now.
Yesterday it was sunny, and it rained, and then it snowed."
"Yes," said Miffy. "We had a whole year seasons in just one day."
And they both laughed.

When it found out that it soon would be her birthday, they began to think
what they would make for her. Miffy and her classmates talked about it in the play ground.
"Why don't we sew her a new dress?" suggested Aggie.
"That would be too difficult," said Winnie. "We don't know her exact size."
"How about a huge box of sweets! I love sweets," said Melanie.
"I think she would like a big ice cream better," said Aggie.
Why don't we make a classroom restaurant for her?"
"Yes," said Melanie. "Some of us can be the cooks and some of us can be the waiters."
"What kind of food shall we make?" asked Winnie.
"How about carrot soup?" asked Miffy. "My mother will help me to make carrot soup."
Soon they all agreed on what each of them would do.
Miffy and her mother were soon busy chopping carrots and cooking them.
They made a large pan of delicious carrot soup.
The other bunnies were making waiter's aprons and cook's hats.
They decorated some dishes for the restaurant table.
They wrote a restaurant menu and coloured it in.
They wanted the teacher's desk to look like a real restaurant table.
When the day of the teacher's birthday came, all the little bunnies were giggling and whispering together.
The teacher wondered what was happening her classroom. Then all the little bunnies began to sing,
"Happy birthday to you, Happy birthday to you, Happy birthday dear Teacher, Happy birthday to you."
"We have a special surprise for you," said Melanie.
"Yes. We are going to make a birthday restaurant dinner for you right here in our classroom," said Miffy.
So they put a beautiful table cloth on the teacher's desk, and a candle stick, and a menu card.
The decorated dishes and a glass of water and a knife, a fork, and a spoon.
"Thank you, children," said the teacher.
"That is a beautiful and original restaurant. And I really like it."
Then she looked lovingly at all her students.
But she felt a little sad that all of her pupils were standing there to watch her eat.
So she said, "I think I would enjoy this even more if all you cooks and waiters joined in.
Why don't you push all your desks together, and then we can all sit down at the same table?
I think there's enough of the lovely carrot soup for us all."
The teacher got some bowls and spoons from the school kitchen.
And she and all the little bunnies enjoyed the wonderful meal.
There was enough delicious carrot soup for everyone.
It was the grandest birthday party ever in their classroom.
It was a rainy day.
“What shall I do today?” said Miffy.
“I can’t go out into the rain to play with my friends.”
“Well, you can help me do the dishes.” said Mother bunny.
So Miffy dried the dishes. Then she swept the floor.
“Thank you for your help.” said Mother bunny.
Miffy looked at the window again.
Still she has to stay in the house.
“What else can I do for you, mother?” asked Miffy.
“You helped me enough.” said Mother bunny.
“Why don’t you take your crayons and draw some nice pictures?”
“Yes,” said Miffy.
“I like to draw pictures.”
So Miffy drew a picture of her back garden with the blue sky and the sun shining brightly.
But when Miffy looked out through the window to her back garden, the sky was not blue and the sun was not shining.
It was raining harder than ever.
“What shall I do now?” she sighed.
“What shall I do, mother?” asked Miffy.
“I dried the dishes, I swept the floor and I drew a picture.”
“Why don’t you read a book?” said Mother bunny.
“Oh, that’s a good idea!” said Mifffy.
Miffy read a nice story about sunny day at the beach.
She looked out through the window again and saw it was still raining hard.
Her mother said “Miffy, if you listen to the nice music, it will make you feel happy.”
So Miffy listened to some music from sunny Spain.
The outside of her little house, it began to look like the north pole.
While the music was playing, the rain had turned to snow.
Mother bunny called, “Miffy, Miffy, look outside!” “It’s so beautiful.”
“How strange!” Miffy thought.
It has been raining all day and mother said it’s beautiful.
Miffy looked through the window.
What did she see?
Everything has covered with soft white snow.
The sky was blue again.
How wonderful!
Miffy took her warm coat and scarf.
She dressed herself and ran outside where she could play with her friends at last.

And that always meant something exciting. Grandpa was carrying a large parcel.
Mother and Father welcomed Miffy's grandparents.
"Hello, Grandma. Hello, Grandpa. I'm so happy to see you."
"We're happy to see you, too," said Grandma Bunny.
"We’ve brought something we think you'll like, Miffy," said Grandpa.
"It's something I made in my own workshop especially for you."
"Oh, what is it?" asked Miffy. "I can hardly wait to see it."
Miffy carefully unwrapped the parcel. It was a perfect brightly painted wooden scooter.
I can carry my teddy bear in the little basket. Thank you. This is a wonderful gift, Grandpa."
Miffy wanted to try her scooter straight away.
"Let's go to the play ground. And you can ride your scooter, Miffy," said Father Bunny.
"I'll come with you."
Soon Miffy was scooting alone with her little teddy bear in the basket.
Father Bunny had to run fast to keep up with her.
"I hope you are enjoying the ride, Teddy?" said Miffy.
The little bear seemed to be nodding, "Yes, I am, Miffy."
Soon Miffy and her father came to the playground. Miffy's friend Melanie was playing there.
"Hello, Melanie," said Miffy. "Hello. What a beautiful scooter, Miffy!" said Melanie.
"My Grandpa made it for me in his workshop," said Miffy.
"Would you like to try it?"
"Oh, yes, Miffy, thank you," said Melanie.
I think he would like to ride all around the play ground."
"O.K." said Melanie. "I will ride in all around the playground, and bring him safely back to you."
Miffy watched as Melanie scooted away. She could hardly wait for her to return.
She loved her new scooter. When Melanie returned, she said, "This is a wonderful scooter, Miffy.
I will ask my daddy to make one for me, too. Then we can go scooting together."
"That will be great fun," said Miffy. Miffy felt very happy as she scooted home for tea.
And Grandpa Bunny was very pleased that the scooter was such a great success.
The next time that Miffy and her father were at the playground,
Melanie arrived with a beautiful new scooter of her own.
Her teddy bear had come along for a ride as well.
Miffy and Melanie and the teddy bears had a wonderful afternoon.

So she tried to think of another wish. She decided to go for a walk.
She was sure that she could think better while she was walking.
There was Snuffy who was as always very happy to see Miffy.
"If you want to come along with me?" asked Miffy.
While they were outside walking, Miffy and Snuffy met Aggie who had her arm in the sling.
"I fell down while I was roller skating," said Aggie. "And I hurt it."
"I wish that your arm gets better soon," said Miffy.
"Thank you, Miffy," said Aggie. That was Miffy's first wish.
"If my wish is magic, Aggie's arm will be better tomorrow," she thought as she waved goodbye to her friend.
As Miffy and Snuffy walked towards the forest, it began to rain.
Miffy hadn’t remembered to take her umbrella on her walk.
"Oh, dear!" said Miffy. "I wish it would never rain and always be sunny."
Miffy was surprised when it quickly stopped raining and the sun came out.
"I wasted my second wish," she said.
"If there is only sunshine and no rain, the trees won't grow."
Now she had only one wish left.
"My last wish would be for something very nice," she said to Snuffy.
Miffy thought and thought as she walked along looking around
and tried to think of something important to wish for.
Miffy thought about her mother and wanted to pick some flowers to bring home to her.
"But my mother likes yellow flowers best," she told Snuffy.
"I see lots of red flowers and lots of blue flowers.
Shall I use my last wish to find some yellow flowers?"
Just around a bend, there was a whole field of lovely yellow flowers.
"Now I can use my last wish for something else," said Miffy. "I will wish for an ice cream."
Miffy picked a lovely bunch of yellow flowers for her mother.
"Having three wishes is a very wonderful thing," said Miffy, as they began walking home.
When Miffy gave Mother Bunny the bunch of yellow flowers, she was very happy.
"Oh, Miffy," she said. "These are lovely. They are my favorite yellow flowers."
"I save my last wish for a nice ice cream," said Miffy.
"Do you know what I wish for? I wish that my little Miffy will always be just as sweet as she is now."
And she gave Miffy a big squeezy bunny hug.
Then Mother Bunny went into the kitchen and gave Snuffy a nice bowl of fresh water, and Miffy an ice cream.

最近の書き取りスタイルは、A4の裏紙をクリップボードにとめ、
4Bくらいの鉛筆かサインペンです。これだと手が疲れないし、紙がたっぷり使えるので。
一話書き取るのに10枚くらいつかっちゃいます。殴り書きもいいとこで、他人は判読不能でしょう。
ミッフィーといつも一緒に寝ているくまちゃんがベッドの下に落ちた。
ミッフィー曰く「もう大きくなったのね。自分のベッドが必要だわ。」
それをボリスに説明する、という場面なんです。
"It's too big for him." を「私のベッドはくまちゃん（と添い寝する）には大きすぎるの。」
と訳したら、トンJンですよね... 訳が間違ってるのか、聞き取りが間違ってるのか、
どっちなんだかわからなくて...

車から、ぶっ飛んじゃってスナッフィに助けられて、
どれだけボロボロになっちゃうんだか．．．。現実なら．．．。
今日(6/21)は、Miffyの誕生日らしいですね。
まぁNHKで、やっててくれてて良かった．．．。
今年の2/12から見始めた新参者ですが。
ほんと、ここのスクリプト・テキストはためになります。

It was autumn. Leaves were falling and clouds were gathering.
Miffy was playing outside with her ball.
When suddenly it started to rain heavily.
Before her dress got wet, She ran into her house.
"If you want to play outside Miffy, You must wear your coat." Her mother said.
Miffy put on her coat. Just when she was going outside again,
Barbara bear knocked at the door.
"It stopped raining Mrs. Bunny, Can Miffy come to the woods with me please?"
"We can look for beautiful autumn leaves to make decorations."
"That sounds like a lovely thing to do Barbara,
But it might rain again, so be sure that Miffy wears her coat."
They found some yellow leaves, some red leaves, and some brown leaves.
"These will make beautiful decorations," said Barbara.
"Look! The sun has come out again. And it's getting warm."
"We can hang up coats on this tree blanch while we go to look the more leaves."
Soon the baskets were full of the pretty leaves.
"Are you thirsty for more that work, Miffy?" asked Barbara.
"Let's go to my house. I have some cool lemonade we can drink."
They went inside Barbara's wooden house.
Just stay while drinking the lemonade,
Miffy looked out of the window and saw that it was raining again very heavily.
"Oh dear, Our coats" said Barbara.
"They're still outside hanging on a tree blanch. They will be completely soaked."
"We will be completely soaked if we go out to get them.” said Miffy.
"Don't worry Miffy," said Barbara.
"I have an umbrella that is big enough to cover both of us."
They were dripping wet.
"I can't put on my coat.” said Miffy. "How will I get home?"
"My mother will be angry of my dress gets wet too."
"I will walk home with you, Miffy.” said Barbara.
"My umbrella will keep us dry."
The two friends were still nice and dry when they reached Miffy's house.
Miffy wondered what her mother would say,
When she saw that Miffy had come home without her coat.
When Mother Bunny saw them under the umbrella,
She was pleased that Miffy had not got wet in the rain.
"Miffy? Where is your coat?"
"I'm sorry, My coat is soaking wet," said Miffy.
"And I left it hanging on a tree blanch."
"That's all right, Miffy,” said Mother Bunny.
"You can go and fetch your coat when it stops raining."
"Thank you Barbara. For keeping Miffy dry with your umbrella.
Come in to have some tea."
Miffy and Barbara looked at all the pretty leaves they had collected.
"What shall we make with all of our leaves?" asked Miffy.
"As it still raining," said Barbara. "How about a rain hat?"
"Yes." said Miffy. "And as I don't have my coat, I will make a rain cape."
Soon Barbara had a fabulous rain hat, and Miffy had a colorful cape.
They ran outside and were surprised to find that it had finally stopped raining.
"Come on Miffy, Now that is sunny shining. Let's go and collect our coats."
"OK." said Miffy.
"And this time, We shall bring the umbrella, the new hat, and the new cape,
Just in case with it starts rain again."

"Let's see who can throw a ball the highest," said Miffy.
And she threw her ball. Then it was Melanie's turn.
It went even higher. Then Aggie tried. Not quite so high.
"I'm very good at throwing balls. May I try?"
"O.K.," said the girl bunnies.
Aggie said, "But I don't think you can throw the ball higher than we can."
Poppy threw the ball. Up it went but it did not come down.
"What happened?" said Poppy. "Did you see how high I throw the ball? Where is it?"
"The bunny girls laughed. The ball is in the tree," said Melanie.
"You threw the ball high enough for it to get stuck in the tree."
Luckily the wind blew the ball out of the tree.
"O.K. Let's see how far I can throw the ball this time."
The ball sailed away and splashed into the pond.
"Oh, dear," said Poppy. "I have lost your ball and I can't swim."
"Don't worry," he said, "I will get your ball out of the pond.
And then we can have a game to see who can kick the ball the furthest."
Father Bunny got in a boat and rowed out to the middle of the pond and took the ball out of the water.
"Aggie, let's see how far you can kick the ball," said Father Bunny. Then Melanie tried.
"All right," said Father Bunny, "that was very good. And now it's Miffy's turn."
"Now young bunny girls," said Father Bunny, "I will show you how to really kick a ball."
Poppy Pig was glad that she didn't have to kick the ball.
But she watched Father Bunny to see how a ball should really be kicked.
The ball sailed away straight towards Miffy's house. "Dinner is ready!" called Mother Bunny.
Aggie, Melanie, Poppy, and Miffy gasped. Father Bunny was very sorry about what he done.
And he was worried that Mother Bunny would be very angry with him.
But Mother Bunny just laughed and said, "Well, at least the ball is in time for dinner."
"Now let’s see who can run the fastest to the table."

One morning when Miffy awoke, she saw that her teddy bear was sick.
His arm was dangling by a thread. "Oh, dear," said Miffy.
"You're looking very bad, Little Teddy. I'll have to take you to a doctor.
Is there a doctor for teddy bears?" she asked.
"Well," said Mother Bunny, "the very best toy doctor is your own Auntie Alice."
So straight after breakfast, Miffy carefully wrapped her sick teddy bear in a napkin
and placed him in her scooter basket in order to bring him to Auntie Alice.
"Will you please look at my teddy bear?" asked Miffy.
"Mother said you're the very best toy doctor."
"Well," said Auntie Alice, "come in, Miffy dear. And let me examine the patient."
Auntie Alice placed Miffy's teddy bear on the table and carefully removed the napkin.
"Oh, dear!" said Auntie Alice. "This is a more serious condition than I thought.
Look! Even the stuffing is coming out of his body. You've come just in time."
"Oh, can you help him?" asked Miffy anxiously. "I think I can," said Auntie Alice.
"But he will have to stay my hospital for one night so that I know he is well again."
Miffy was very sad to be without her teddy for even one night. But she had to go home.
"I don't think I can sleep very well without my teddy bear," she said.
"Well, Miffy," said her mother, "I will telephone Auntie Alice and ask her
if you can stay with her tonight. So you can be close to your teddy."
"I've already sewn Miffy's teddy together. So if she comes back here to sleep,
I'll put him in her bed as a surprise for her when she wakes in the morning."
So Father drove Miffy to Auntie Alice to stay for the night.
As soon as Miffy was asleep, Auntie Alice carefully tacked the repaired teddy bear under Miffy's blanket.
When Miffy awoke in the morning she saw right away that her teddy was healthy again.
"Oh, Auntie Alice, it's true!" she shouted. "You're really the best toy doctor that ever was."
"Thank you, dear," said Auntie Alice proudly.
And Miffy was very happy that her teddy bear was well again.

"Oh, Poppy," said Miffy one summer day, "I would love to taste one of your apples."
"Not yet, Miffy dear," said Poppy. "The apples are still too small, green, and hard.
You must wait a while."
The next time Miffy walked by Poppy Pig's house, she saw that the apples were larger
and were changing their color. Half green and half red.
"Now may I please taste one of your apples, Poppy?" asked Miffy.
"Not yet, Miffy," said Poppy.
"The apples must be all bright red before they are ready to eat."
She was so eager to taste one of these apples.
Very soon all the apples were big and bright red.
"But birds like red apples, too."
Poppy thought, "It's time to pick those apples before the birds eat them."
At very day Miffy walked home from school very quickly
hoping that at last Poppy's apples would be ready to eat.
She was so excited thinking about how good they would taste
and could hardly wait to get Poppy's house.
And there it was. But look! There were no more apples in the tree.
"Oh, there those wonderful apples were gone!"
Miffy ran to Poppy's door and knocked, but Poppy was not home.
"Who could have taken Poppy's apples?" Miffy wondered.
She looked into Poppy's kitchen window. There were no apples on the table.
"Oh, Poppy," shouted Miffy. "Someone has taken all the apples from your tree.
Now I won't be able to taste even one of them."
Poppy said, "Oh, I was away buying some fresh milk.
Wouldn't you like come in and have a glass of milk with me?"
"Oh, yes, Poppy," said Miffy. "But what about your apples?"
"Well, maybe I will have a surprise for you, Miffy dear."
And they went inside Poppy's house.
As soon as they entered the door,
Miffy smelt something very good, something fresh out of the oven.
"Wouldn't you like to have a big slice of apple pie to go with your milk?"
And then Poppy opened her oven and brought out a huge pie full of delicious apples.
She put the apple pie on the table.
It looked wonderful and it smelt delicious.
Miffy was very surprise and very happy.
At last she had tasted those wonderful big red apples.

"Yes, Miffy. But it’s a long way and your scooter is broken. You have to walk."
It was a long walk and Miffy was happy when she reached Poppy’s house at last.
She knew that Poppy always had some nice biscuits to eat.
When she knocked on the door, she could almost taste those biscuits.
But there was no answer. She looked up and saw a note stuck at the door.
Miffy read the note, "I’m off to visit my cousin. Back next week," it said.
"Oh, well," thought Miffy. "What else can I do on this lovely day?"
Miffy went to the telephone and dialed Melanie’s number.
Melanie’s mother answered the phone.
"Can Melanie come out and play with me?" asked Miffy.
"Oh, I’m sorry, Miffy dear," said Melanie’s mother.
"Melanie is in bed with a cold and can not go outside to play today."
"I know!" thought Miffy. "I'll get my ball and go and play with Snuffy."
So Miffy went to her cupboard and took out her big brightly colored ball.
"Snuffy loves to chase this ball," said Miffy. She ran as fast as she could to where Snuffy lived.
"We will have great fun," she thought.
But when she got there, Snuffy was lying beside her empty food dish fast asleep.
Miffy could see that Snuffy had just had her dinner.
But Snuffy only opened one eye just a little bit, and then closed it again, and stayed fast asleep.
So poor Miffy had to go home again still with no one to play on such a beautiful day.
"I'll just have to play by myself," she thought.
"But I can still have fun. I’m going to fly my kite."
She took out her beautiful kite with a long ribbon.
She held on to the string and ran across the meadow.
She ran and ran, but the kite just bounced on the ground.
There was no wind. No wind at all.
And her kite could not fly up into the sky. Miffy stopped running.
"This started off such a nice day," she thought.
"But everything went wrong. I'll just go home."
At home Miffy took one of her favorite books from her shelf.
"Here is something that never goes wrong," she said.
"A good book," Miffy smiled at the funny story she read.
"What fun!" she thought. "It wasn't such a bad day after all."
